More cookies
Krumkake is a delicate Norwegian cookie. It's a bit tedious to make, but worth the effort. It's best if you have a team of tireless workers, as I did. First we heated the krumkake iron over the gas flame. Then I poured a little cookie batter (butter, sugar, eggs, and almond extract) onto the iron and closed the lid, flipping the iron once to cook the other side of the cookie. When it was slightly browned, Dad took the flat round cookie off of the iron and flipped it onto a bed of powdered sugar. Buzz took over from there, rolling the still-soft cookie around a wooden spool. The three of us ate a few with a cup of hot tea. The flavor was exquisite.
