It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas cookies
This was Jasper's first attempt at making Christmas cookies. Before we started, I removed any and all expectations. He's two. For all I knew, we'd just have fun playing with the dough. He had some difficulty working the rolling pin because it was SO big and heavy, but he was a real champ at placing cookie cutters sharp-side-down onto the dough and pressing them in. He worked his little fingers along the sides of the cutouts to pick them up and place them gently on the baking sheet and then smacked them down with his palm, customizing them some. Time, a thing that usually runs so fast, crept by as we waited for the cookies to bake and cool. We slapped a little red and green frosting on our cookies and we ate a lot of them, leaving a plateful to bring to Great-Grandma Ruth.
